4L60E questions

What are the differences between 4l60e's? I know certain years they changed the way the TCC lock up was modulated. What's the difference between a V8, V6, and 4 banger transmission? Are the bellhousings different between the 8,6, and 4? Which years or applications had the bolt on bell housing and not the one piece?

What about the valve bodies? are they different between a 8,6 and 4 for a similar year of transmission? Are there certain years that were better than other do to upgrades? Any web sites on this?

4 cyl and 2.8/3.4 v6 models use the smaller bolt pattern bellhousing. 4.3 v6 and v8 bellhousings are the same until they went to the 4.8, 5.3l engines.

What about the 3.8L V-6 from the newer Camaros and Firebirds? What kind of bellhousing do they line up with?

A 3.8 is an old Buick designed block. They have the "saddle top" bellhousing. Only fits BPOC>(Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Cadillac) Chevy's are the odd ball in the family.
