M6 TOLL SPARE WHEEL REMINDER!

If you are planning to use the M6 Toll on your way to Gaydon, don't forget to remove the spare from your bonnet, or they will try to charge you £3 extra for the privilege of carrying it.

On the other hand, if you are feeling Bolshie and have several mates with bonnet mounted spare wheels, you could all arrive at the toll plaza at the same time and completely screw upu th system! Cheers, John

Then you sit there and refuse to pay anything other than the correct amount. If this happens often enough then they *will* do something about it.

For this very reason, motorbikes usually go through for free. Too many instances of bikers fumbling through armoured leather clothes for small change (I can never find mine in cold weather)

Why have you gotta pay for a spare wheel???

It's been discussed b4. The thing measures the height of the front of the vehicle, to determine wether it's a van or a car. Thus with a spare wheel, its over the limit for a car, and they will try to charge you the van rate.

Argue the toss, don't let the bastards get away with it.

No, it's a reference to a recent news story where a top policeman who constantly bleats on about 'speed kills' was caught doing 104mph on the M6 toll and got off with a fine and points. . . . . . . ;-(
