Michelin Cross-Pilot Tires

Can someone tell me when Michelin brought out the Cross-Pilot tire? It seems that they are now everywhere, including on many new domestic and import SUVs. Yet just a few years ago when I last bot tires for our '99 Explorer, I bot a different Michelin..an LTX something or other. Is the Cross Pilot something new?

Oops, I meant CROSS-TERRAIN tires! "Pilot" is another model!

Yes, it is a relatively new Michelin.

The niche for this tire is the truck/SUV driver who wants more of a "car-like?" drive.

I found the hype matched the performance for these tires as the are quieter and more responsive than LTX'es.

Be aware- there are two speed ratings for this tire, and the version rated higher offers better handling due to stiffer sidewalls and higher treadwear ratings/warranty as well.

Good luck,
