Fiesta 1.1LX

Hi, im thinking of selling my 1993 Fiesta Mk3 1.1LX and there are a few things wrong with it at the moment, and i was wondering whether it was cheap enough to fix them before i sell it, so theres nothing wrong with it.

But am not sure whether its worth paying a lot of money to get them fixed compared with what price i will get.

The problems are.

  1. The boot does not open at all, it used to open ok if u turned the key and pulled at the lock, now nothing at all, price of new lock fitted or whether it can be fixed myself.

  1. Same with passenger side door, does not open lock, perhaps this can be fixed myself also

  2. Rear wiper does not work,

  1. New set of wing mirrors needed as one of them smashed off by some delinquent. Have one M3 mirror on at the mo.

Body work is in great condition and only a little bit of rust on the Petrol Cap, and wheel arch.

Any help wud be much appreciated.

Thanks

Lee

If you can fix the problems with parts from the scrappy then yes. None of it sounds terribly complicated and it's possible that two of your problems could be down to your key being too worn to operate the locks. Do you have a spare you could try?

The locks could be irritating for a buyer - try WD40 to see if they loosen up enough for the purpose.

Mirrors from the scrapyard - if it's just the glass you can get a stickon replacment from halfords for a fiver.

For the wiper - check the fuses. Or get one from a scrapyard. Or just adjust the selling price. Or just see if the buyer is bothered in any case - it's an old enough car for a couple of bits to be not working.
