Fiesta Mk3 Brake Lights

Hi

Wonder if anyone can help, i have a problem with my brakelights on my Fiesta Mk3 the problem is that the lights are not coming on when i brake, i have checked the bulbs and the bulbs are ok, as i swapped them with the indicator bulbs on the back and these work ok.

Someone suggested a fuse mightr have blown to the stop/brake electrics. But how do i find that and how easy is it to replace them

Establish which bulb is the fog light by turning it on, as I recall it has one foglight which is a separate part of the lamp, the other lamp has a reverse light, I think these are probably the bulbs you have looked at. IIRC I think you will find that the brake light and side light bulb is combined, therefore you cannot put an indicator bulb in its place. Have another look, take out the bulb clusters, turn on the side lights and see which one illuminates, it should be a large bulb, which should have two contacts on its end and two filaments, almost certainly the brake filament will be broken.

Yeh i tried all the lights the fog lights, reverse light and indicators bulbs are ok, as are the sidelights, which means all bulbs are working ok, but it may be that one of the filaments has gone on the side lights, so i will be replacing both bulbs today, not an expensive job. And will see how things go after that
