FORD MONDEO REAR SUBFRAME BUSHES 2001 ONWARDS

Has anyone had experience of fitting the powerflex bushes to the rear subframe of their car ?

yes, you can buy the proper tool now to aid replacement, think we got ours from draper, you need to drop the whole frame down to replace them, not too bad a job but dont forget the rear suspension is adjustable, so mark it !

Why not just buy the genuine bushes? They've been available from ford for a few months now.

Bought mine at Motoserve in Milton Keynes, £68.00 (incl vat), genuine Ford parts. Put the rear end up on axle stands and dropped the sub-frame after disconnecting the anti-roll bar from the drop links and marking the position of the sub-frame. Hammered out the old bushes using a chisel and club hammer. Note - before removing the old ones, make a note of which ones go where as the bushes come as two sets of two (front and rear). Inserted the new ones using club hammer and large socket assisted by liberal smearing of copper grease. Refitted sub-frame and connected anti roll bar. Went to garage and got tracking checked. Time taken for the bushes, approx 2.5 hrs.
