turbo cars and bov's

something you guys might know i thought. getting a revision2 MR2 turbo in the coming months (eventually) and want to add a blitz bov as i'm a sucker for the PTSSSSHHHHH noise :)

anyway the MR2 rev2's have a afm meter which when a bov is added makes the ecu confused to whats going on. just want to know if an apexi AFC would correct this and make the car run without probs with the bov installed?

can see the apexi at apexi.com

cheers

Yes it would indeed you can alter the decel airflow value so the ECU sees the actual air present rather than what the AMM has acutaly metered.

However theres cheaper ways to do it, either whack a solenoid into the vacuum line triggered by TPS so it closes at small/no throttle openings thereby stopping the BOV leaking air at idle or go for a twin piston valve from Bailey or Forge (better) as these seal at idle.

No need - you just need the appropriate dump-valve for your particular system - something like a "EVO dump valve (DV26) which has been specially designed to work on cars with airflow meters/metering heads, such as the Escort RS Turbo, Fiat Uno/Punto, Subaru Impreza etc...." from
