Any source for design flaw memos?

The kind they issue internally at car companies acknowledging the presence of product faults but don't disclose to the public. Also, is there a source for hidden warranties that are offered when customers take complaints further than the auto companies would like them to? Reason is that when an ingnition module went on my Mustang, it cost me almost $350 to replace it, being out of warranty. What a shock when it goes! The car starts bucking like it suddenly has zero gas in the cylinder! A mechanic remarked that it was a known design flaw. I don't know if that is true, but a friend just had the same problem hit him.

You can go to a local dealership and tell them you heard it is a design flaw and bring your receipt from the mechanic and if it was a design flaw they will reimburse you. I did this when my intake manifold cracked. They filled out a form and attached a copy of my receipt and mailed it off somewhere (to Ford I assume) and in just about 4 days I received a check in the mail from Ford for the full amount of parts & labor.

Ask the dealership if there's a Technical Bulletin for that problem. They have no reason to hide it from you. Unless ther have been deaths involved, I seriously doubt Ford, or any other maker, will have any secret notes about it.

Your problem is simple... its an electronic module and they go bad sometimes.

That, and there was a class action lawsuit against Ford in the early 90s for this same sort of problem.
