Well, she was going to stop by Vegas, so she may be at a casino, oblivious to the time.

She is way past Vegas. She has already been to my house in OKC and should be still looking for a place as we speak. She is in TN doing her house hunting. Or, I should say they are large, outdoor, heated, air conditioned shop hunting with an attached house.

Hey Gerry! We have been transients, the Motel life is just not for me LOL We FINALLY found a house yesterday, are making an offer on it today. It's in the Northwest part of the state, Paris Tennessee. Now I can tell my friends that I moved to Paris.

It has been quite an experience looking at houses here. The quality of construction is shoddy at best. Everything is panelling and slipshod. The home we found is a Custom 3,000 s.f 4bd/3/5ba on 5 acres and the best part is... it has a 30x60 shop on it!

The bad thing is, since being here in this beautiful state I have discovered that their speed limits suck. Nice roads, 55mph, then suddenly 40 mph and it's still a nice wide double lane. I have actually been thinking of trading my Cobra in on something more practical since I'll never get to run her out here. The State troopers are thick as fleas on a dog's butt.

So.. we are still at least a month from moving in, and here I sit in a fleabag motel going stir crazy.

Happy Hollydaze to ya kids!

Keep the Cobra, you'll never forgive yourself if you get something 'Practical', unless you trade for a 2003 Cobra Convertible!

A very 'Practical' car, if you ask me....

Paris, home of the world's largest fish fry!

If you run into anyone with the last name Manning or Mann, then you can be sure they are related to me. Most of my family is from the Paris area. Well, Paris and McKenzie. Paris is Henry County, which extends all the way down to McKenzie. McKenzie though is actually a tri-county town, even being as small as it is. Henry, Carroll, and Weakley iirc.

Paris Lake is/can be really nice. Lots of good fishing there, including a

150lb turtle that has a few hundred hooks stuck in it.

There used to be a Kerr McGee in town that did really good mechanic work, owned by Dwayne Mann (shameless plug). The town is about the same speed as the town you visited me in. Good people, lots of old country folk, and a decent speed of life. Needless to say, it is not California, lol.

I will pass some more info on your way when I have more time. I just stopped in to grab a cd for someone at work.

Okay, I called Grandma and Grandpa. I figured the best way to get you an inside track in the greater Paris area would be to ask the experts.

Dwayne has passed, I forgot to mention that. However, I can give you a number to call that will help you out a lot. I will pass it on to you in an email.

Anywho, the number I am giving to you is to my *uncle*?? I think he is my grandpa's cousin...or something. He has been around there for more years than you and I have been alive. You tell him that you are a good friend of JR's grandson, and he will point you in the right direction. Plus, he is a Ford, Lincoln, Mercury man! So when it comes time for mechanic work, or if you need to know anything, don't be afraid to call. Tell him I mowed his yard one time, lol.

Parrish Automotive is another place. I can't be for sure if that is the right configuration, but I am sure *Parrish* is in it somehow. They have some connection to my grandfather as well.

Hope this helps, and I might be able to visit you guys sooner than you think. I know my grandpa will be headed back up that way before to long.

Well glad you "landed", as we wanted to be sure you arrived safe and sound..

The new place sounds great, and can understand the "custom" house, but flea bag motel for a month... wow... but with the holidays, time will pass quickly.

I agree a convertible there would be nice..

OMG, Kate's moved to France. :-)

Welcome to the South. Get used to it hon. We are looking to replace our carpet with tile but I'm scared to rip it up as I know I'm going to find a floor that's all buth smooth and level. They just don't seem to know how to do that down here...

You poor thing. And that poor Shug. Now ya know down here in Fla we can still do 75 on the freway and I doubt any trooper will even bother with ya until you go way over 80. Maybe ya need to trade Shug for a V6? :-)

Happy Holidays hon! You'll get yer house soon though...

Here's hoping that you get settled, and quickly. You know you have no excuse for missing the 40th Anniversary show in Nashville, right?

I'm planning on driving the new CFrog down, but Jean's opting to fly. (I'll be picking her up at the airport!) Would be great to meet more of you folks there, perhaps some who didn't make it to Charlotte for the 35th...

No reason not to add a Vibrant/Performance Red V6 vert to the stable! Keep Shug in a nice warm dry garage and let her out on the weekends/sunny days. I'm looking into giving my V6 a much needed power boost, but ran into this itty bitty problem: $$. Oh well, back to Safeway to get some more lottery tickets.
