Hello. Does anyone know what could be going on with my dash gauges? They are dancing around then stick in one spot for hours or days at times then they work fine for a few hours then start all over again. The idiot lights all work fine. I was told to replace the ignition switch which didn't help and all the wiring looks good to the starter and alternator. Could it be the gauge cluster in the dash it self? I'm totally lost!

Thanks. Ike

Probably a bad ground. Hard to say where. Remove the gage cluster and wiggle around all the pins that connect to the flexible circuit board. Check out all contact points of the connector. look under the dash for grounding points. Loosen and then re-tighten the screw.

E- bay has lots of these gage clusters.

Hello Ike and everyone, great answer about dash grounding,---also the dash gauges work on approx. 7 volts the unit that converts this voltage could be faulty, and is somewher behind the dash, you could buy a new one and search for it under the dsah and replace,-----sorry it=92s name escapes me at the moment, but it converts the battery 12v to 7v to poerate the dash gauges.
