Interior paint, attn: Frank Starr? or anyone that wants it

got some paint mixed to match the existing interior trim in my '55 coupe, I had the paint color matched to the little center piece of the rear window trim at the top of the window (I figured that would be the least faded part in the car) this is the tan/grey/pink color

Sherwin Williams Gloss Industrial HS Enamel, one gallon

BAC Colorant OZ 32 64 128 B1-Black 2 7 - 1 N1-Raw Umber 2 28 1 1 R2-Maroon - 8 1 - Y3-Deep Gold - 11 - - W1-White 6 - - -

hope this helps someone... I just cut this with a little enamel reducer "by Zen" and shot it with a jamb gun, sprayed fine and covers like a big dog - a gallon is way more than anyone would ever need but they were out of quarts and also I didn't expect it to cover so well

Thanks, Nate, I'll save this. There should be a repository of some sort on the SDC site to file information like this. Anybody doing a

53-55 will need it at some point.

On mine, I added a little flattening agent to the mix to give a very nice eggshell finish rather than a bright gloss. I figure that is more representative of 1955.

You tried stipping any of the old paint, Nate? I'm using Aircraft Remover, but it's tough paint. Important to get the back edges of the moldings cleaned up and etched and painted - that's where the rust starts that stains the headliner.

Oh, I did try the white fabric spray on the headliner (Dupli-Color Fabric Spray). It does work some, but covers very poorly - takes a lot of coats. In general, not worth while.

Got the rear quarter windows assemblies back together. Used 1/8 x 1/8 stainless steel pop rivets for the hinges. Used just a spare touch of Sil-Glide greas on the rubber molding to get it into the frame, and a spot on the hinges so they'll slip int to the slots in the rubber.

How do I post pictures?

Actually I think that Ray Fichthorn is saving paint formulas, so hopefully he will grab this. my windows were OK so I didn't strip them just scuffed them up a little. I used #4 machine screws and nylocks to hold mine together just because mine had been "rebuilt" before and the holes for the latch wouldn't hold with pop rivets.

But if they mixed it for you they can mix only a quart, pint,or ?.so next time you can get what you want.
