Fog lamps installation (Attention Speedy Jim)

Hi ramva! I just got a some H3 fog lamps I'd like to install on the SB. I know I should add a separate switch and use a relay. But, I don't know exactly how to wire up the thing. Can I use an existing relay or must I add a new one? Is there an easy way to set it up to flash when I flash the high beams? (don't ask me why)

TIA, Karls

You need a relay. Here is a popular Bosch relay you can find anywhere:

Look on my web site for: "Circuit diagram for rear window defogger on Type 1 cars." You can use that circuit and just substitute the fog lamps for the window heater element.

It would be possible to actuate the relay when the dimmer lever is pulled up, but I think it gets a bit involved. Use a small (1 Amp) diode to feed 12V from the High Beam headlamp into the fog lamp relay coil.

................For only $1.99, how can you go wrong? I should get a dozen of them so that I can take care of all of my bad ignition switches and dim headlights................lol

..........If this doesn't make Jan and Chris do a back flip, I give up.........heh heh

Nah. No need to fear for their yapping. They will do some and pull back to their doghouses... ;)
