Help: 83 Blazer K-10

Nov 26, 2006 1 Replies

Just purchased an 83 blazer K-10. Was converted from diesel to gas, has 9 inch lift, 39" tires. There is alot of play in the steering wheel, very loose, is there a way to fix this? Also, it doesn't turn sharp to the right as it does to the left. Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks

Let see, a 9 inch lift on 39 inch tires on a truck designed for 30's with no lift and you are wondering why it steers funny? Seriously though the drag link style steering that GM uses is prone to these problems. A few thing you can check for starters, make sure that the spring end bushing are tight because with the push/pull drag link steering they can effect steering. Next, the drag link should be level because if it is not it can cause problem. Honestly though the stock steering is not really up to this and it should be converted over to a cross steer system and better yet a axle mounted ram steering system.
