1991 Integra Selenoid? Loose Wire? Starter? Which is it?!

Jun 29, 2005 1 Replies

here are the symptoms.. can anyone help?!

-some days it starts fine and has nothing to do with the weather.

-after it?s been started and i drive around for a while.. i can stop and leave it off and parked for hours and come back and it starts fine.. it?s just when i leave it over night.

-lately the engine turns to start but it doesn?t turn over unless i crank it for a good few minutes.. then it seems to catch. other days it starts fine.

-i got new keys.. the ignition switch is tight to the key.. and it has a new battery.

-also i should note when it starts up.. sitting at idle its at 15,000 rpms.. then gradually gets down below 10,0000.

could it be a loose selenoid connection or something more serious? are these symtoms of something else?? :( HELP!!! I LOVE MY INTEGRA and want it to survive.

15 -thousand- rpm is a bit over the redline. 8-) (I know you meant 1500 rpm and 1000 rpm.)

Main relay with cracked solder joints. A common Honda/Acura problem. Tegger's website has great data on this problem and how to fix it. Google will give you Tegger's URL,and turn up a few other sites, too,if you search 'Integra main relay'.
