heater blows cold, heater core not clogged, blend air door seems to move. what am i overlooking

What model/year?
Have you checked the coolant level and tried to bleed the system?

Two things come to mind here,
1) heater valve defective (as previously mentioned) 2) in the early stages of head gasket failure, Fitzy
