1990 IROC starter issues

My car's temper is at max these early cold mornings. Most the time I can get it to start but have to put my foot my on the gas petal or it will die. If I put enough gas into, there's popping coming from the exhaust.

Recently I put in a new distributor, dist.cap, sparkplus, s. plug wires, muffler and cat.

It was in the shop for an entire week but it seems to only act up when I'm around. The quailty and smoothness of the ride is hampered as well. I believe theres a link here.

Can anyone give me a list of possible reasons my car is doing this.

Any help will do. Thanks.

I had a Chey Berretta that had a similar problem. I had to replace the catylitic converter. I'm told it was plugged from the car running to rich. After replacing it the problem went away.

Sadly I have a new cat. Even cleaned out my muffler. Thanks though.

Did they check all of your sensors in the shop? (O2 sensor ect.) You may also want to check for vacume leaks If it's fuel injected you may check the intake sensor and injectors, or for a sticky choke if it has a carb (probably doesn't have a carb).

Did your trouble start before you replaced the ignition parts or is that why you replaced them?
