My Max has 250-300k miles on it, and for some time now, after starting-up it dies after about 5-6 minutes, sometimes longer. When I re-start it I have to go through a series of start-ups and stops. During this brief series, when I press the gas pedal the engine tries to stall out, but when I let off of it the engine will continue running for a brief moment and then die again. Initially, the problem was though to be oil getting into the alternator, so I changed the alternator and had the valve gaskets changed, but the problem continues. Can anyone tell me what my problem might be!? Any help would be appreciated.
