2002 Tahoe Battery Light Coming On....

Hello all. My 2002 Tahoe is driving me nuts. It started with the alternator making a squealing noise and then going out. We replaced it and the battery light started coming on periodically. We had the new alternator tested and found it to be faulty so we got another one and replaced the battery as well. The battery light continued to come on occasionally. We then took it to a GMC dealership and had them test it. They can find nothing wrong with it. The battery is charging and the truck is acting fine. On occasion, when idling, the motor will drag as if the air conditioner is on. Just briefly but it is noticeable. I also checked the connector on the alternator and it looks great as well. I am stumped. Any idea's? We have a trip coming up and I'm afraid to go very far with this thing. Thanks in advance.

My 2000 Silverado 5.3 4x4 Z-71 battery/alternator system is fine...

My 95 Impala SS charging system is giving me problems since the car sits months at a time...

I have purchased both 1 amp & 2 amp 'trickle' charge units... Because you should never charge a weak battery with alternator internal diodes.... as they get warm/hot...

I've just replaced a dead 7 year Delco Platinum Gel battery with a $60 el cheapo battery for the summer.

Next I have to either remove the 140 amp alternator for a rebuild spin test or go to the GM Chevy shop....

If it has a two part cable on the hot side try changing the washer and bolt. The cables may not be making a good connection even though it it testing good. I had this problem on a 2000 Chevy C2500.

Corrosion seems to be a problem with this area.
