My friend towed a car from Tucson to Albuquerque with one. She just took her time and had no problems. Don't ask me what she would have done if she had to stop quickly. Some people just like to take chances...
Al
My roomate and I moved from Ft Pierce florida to Phoenix, AZ... he towed a uhaul 8ft trailer with his vibe... i towed a 12' behind my Sierra 1500. Mine is the only one that pitched a bitch during the entire 2900 mile trip ( it didn't much care for going over the mountains at anything more than 50 under that heavy of a load). NOw was it a stupid thing to do?? YES.... but he insisted so I followed in case he effed it up somehow. Fortunately the trailer had that semi-efective tongue activated braking, but the trailer significantly outweiged the car, and there were several times I thought he was gonna flip it over from fishtailing, but we made it out in once piece.
That is alot of weight for such a short wheel base. Is that even rated to tow that much?
Well.he did it ! Towed a 2000 lb. boat into Canada -300 miles each way.. I WAS IMPRESSED !!!
