Somtimes when the vehicle is moving and I step on the gas pedal I hear a clank prior to the truck start to accelarate, is this normal or should I be worried about?

Sometimes that's the slip yoke that slides into the transmission sticking and then breaking loose when you start up. Stopping makes it slide in one direction and starting up it slides back in the other direction. If it sticks it will not slide right away and then it breaks loose and clunks. If it's not that it could simply be the sound of the ring and pinions gears from them having their clearance a little on the high side. The yoke noise is usually low pitched "clunk" sort of noise, the ring and pinion noise sounds a little like a bell ring.
Kayoss: It's a low clunk, so it's probobly the yoke then, no worries. Although I haven't heard it lately.
It doesn't do it all the time though, I am thinking it's the yoke.
See if it clunks after a hard stop but not after a gentle stop. On my
76 Blazer a hard stop would shove the yoke in so almost every start after a hard stop produced a clunk, starts after gentle stops didn't.ahhh..musical sounds of a Chevy
