Next Gen Chevrolet? when?

I don't know when it will be. I suspect a while since it just went through a redesign in 03. The engineers should have gotten fired for that one!

My friend just bought an 03 stepside Z-71. He even states that it's the worst looking truck he's ever owned. Excellent price though. The damn the thing rides nice and runs like a BOOH.

I agree. In 2002 I saw what the 03's were going to look like, and I hurried up and bought a 02 z71. If I were to buy a new truck today, it would be a GMC. I hate the way Chevy's are going.

I like the new Chevy's, just a personal choice. I actually hate the looks of the Dodges, and the Ford are fair.

I personally can't stand the dodges and the fords rank up there next to them... I'm not all that impressed with the new chevys either.. lol but then again my liking is the 90-99 old body style..

Ditto to the comments about the "ugliness" of the 03s/04s. Although I preferred the look of the Chevys over the GMCs in earlier years (88-02), my choice now would have to be the GMC, especially after 2002. Although I would never own a Ford, I do have to admit that the looks of some of their models in recent years have been impressive. Although their "new" F-150 isn't overly good appealing either. On a related note, I never have understood why Chevy has to make a 2500 or 3500 look so awkward. Ford has always done a better job of making the little brother, the F150, look like a brother as opposed to a distant relative. And before I sign off, who in the hell thought the new Chevy van style was attractive? That thing is downright UGLY. My .02 anyway.

I've always been an S-10 fan. Bought a 2003 model that I love. It's a shame they're not going to make them anymore. I haven't made up my mind if I like the Colorado or not yet. So far I don't like it. I guess they weren't making any money on the S-10's because of their reliability. Looks like the S-10 will be left in the dust like the good ole chevette!

No offence but I always thought it was a shame they made the S10. If they just made it a little more reliable/less cheesy like you said I wouldn't mind it.

How can a vehicle be cheesy? My previous S-10 lasted 14 years and 190,000 miles. what more could you ask for? It's still kickin strong too with another owner.

Heat controls that don't break inside the dash, light controls that don't break inside the dash...... should I go on? Mine's got 162,000 and when I can get the starter to work it runs just fine, except for everything but the engine & drivetrain.

I like the look of my 03 Chevy. At first I wasn't a big fan, but I've gotten to like it. It just looks MEAN to me. It helps though to add a GRILL to the front. Fords look OK, but now they're getting Ugly. The trucks now are getting these Large looking doors and Tiny looking windows, and they all now seem to be getting the Blue Ford Logo onto the Back of the Car/Truck, like right in the middle of the Tailgate. Looks like SH*T! I'd never buy one like that if I was buying a ford. Hell when I bought my 03 Silverado I make sure it didn't have the large CHEVROLET painted on the tailgate. I know what kind of truck I have without the large text on the tailgate.

I also HATE the look of Dodges also. The front grills are just so ugly, you can't really make it look all that better.

EXACTLY!!! I've always been a Chevy man because I didn't like the GMC's looks. Now, I'd buy a GMC over the Chevy because of looks. There's no argument that the Dodge's are just plain FUGLY. I never did like the new look since they came out with it in the early 90's. It just keeps getting uglier too. Ford looks OK, but I just plain wouldn't own one.

I agree that the '03's still look like junk off the lot, but with a few of the right exterior mods they don't look like a new Chev at all. The grill is the big thing, change the grill and it will totally look like a totally different truck. They really look mean from the front, especialy when they are behind you. I attached a couple pics of mine. The pic doesn't do it justice at all though.
