Way OT: Kia 3.5L

Yeah, yeah, hold your giggles. It's a damn Kia, but it was $6000 less than a domestic model with the same options plus the 10yr./100,000 mile warranty. The wife has a '02 Sedona minivan with a DOHC 3.5L V6. I love this friggin' motor. Hauls MAJOR ass! (I love pulling up to some teenager in a V-6 S-10 and blowing his doors off!) :-) Anywho, it's time for a spark plug change and the front three are easy enough to get to, but the rear three are nowhere to be seen. Has anyone ever had experience with this motor? There's got to be an easier way to get to 'em. Thanks, guys.

Why don't you take it to the dealer and send some more American dollars over seas.

Funny. The electronics are all stamped DELPHI. The fuel system is by Bosche. Just like my Chevy.

You are doing that anyway if you own any American vehicle. A lot of the parts, engines, etc, are made offshore. I was just laughing with one of our parts guys (from Australia) about how the rear park brake shoes for GM trucks are now made in Australia. A lot of engines are made in Mexico...and there are tons of other countries that make parts for American cars.

I understand the American need to be thought of as patriotic though. It's important to not let facts get in your way. So much easier that way.

out by "feel". Just like alot of the trasverse mouted V-6s. Try a heavy old blanket over the engine and just crawl up on there. The best part is you can lay down while you work :)

or as with my sons Berretta, there is not of room to get my fingers down there. Had to disconnect the motor mount and rotate the motor forward.
