1993 LeBaron

I have the basic instrument panel in my 1993 LeBaron and want to swap over to the more detailed panel with all guages and a tach, or even to the digital panel. My question is, are the LeBarons pre-wired to accept any panel, is the wiring the same for all panels, or am I out of luck??

TIA for any help..............................Dave

They're not prewired to accept any panel -- wiring is NOT present for gauges not originally in the car. Electronic panel uses totally different wiring, too. You can do this kind of swap, but it's a bigger deal than you hope.

I agree with Daniel in that a digital display is unlikely. In the link below, the person was able to change to another panel giving him a tach, along with oil pressure and voltage guages. He has detailed pictures and instructions.

The heck they're not. I did mine and had to do no rewiring.

It's a direct drop in. However if you want to keep the same milage on your car, you'll have to break apart the assembly and replace the speedometer/odometer assembly. Spikey has an excellent writeup about the proceedures. You can find his page using an internet search for lebaron and his last name. I just can't remember the link off the top of my head..
