Jim, There are heater hoses on top behind the engine - most likely you've got a leak there. There is a network of coolant hoses connecting the engine thru the firewall to the heater core and the pressure bottle (located in front of the brake booster). Hopefully just a leaking/ruptured hose.

Thanks, I think you're right. The car had no problems when I collected it so it must have cracked a hose or something.

I saw my grounded car today - the leak was caused by an O-ring on the pipe that connects the cooling water to the front of the intake manifold. I was afraid it was a head gasket.

I look forward to return the loaner car ('85 Nissan Cherry) and move with style again!

That's the 0-ring at the coolant outlet housing where the pipe that connects to the hose that goes tot he radiator. For future reference, that housing has the bleeder screw in it to get trapped air out of the system.

Strange that it would appear to have been leaking at the back of the engine. Glad you got it fixed though.

Nope, 3.5 engine.

A lot of people advised against the 2.7, the 3.5 should be a _much_ better engine, well ...
