Turn Draincock for coolant but nothing comes out

Am I missing something? I'm trying to change the coolant. I found the draincock and turned it conterclockwise (so it is vertical) a quarter turn but nothing comes out.

I also opened the silver coolant pressure cap and that didnt change anything.. Should I just start pouring some in to see if it comes back out.

Any ideas? The car didn't have a problem and this was just routine maintences.

The only thing I see you missing is the year/make/model

LOL!!

Uh...no. Try opening the drain c*ck...all the way...by turning it CCW.

Well, you get points at least for maintaining your cooling system! Most Americans don't even know and/or bother. Don't forget to use distilled/purified water mixed 50/50 with your Chrysler approved antifreeze. Chrysler has a spec that mandates a small amount of sodium silicate in it as a leak stop/preventer. The deionized water will prevent electrolysis, the #1 cause of cooling system failure.

It's probably suppose to turn 180 deg like it does on my Intrepid.

That plastic drain c*ck is awful. Mine also stops at 90 deg and of course nothing comes out in that position. Try wiggling it in and out while continuing to turn it CCW. It still has another 90 deg to go. It's a real pain in the ass sometimes.

Mine doesn't work either. Just makes me wonder about the "pull it out" advice. I never thought of that.
