GE Night Hawk beats either of those handily. So does Philips Vision Plus.

If it must be one or the other of the Sylvania bulbs, get the one with the

*colorless* clear glass, the Xtravision. It not only lasts longer, it puts out more usable light (the Silverstar has blue glass, which steals between 20 and 30 percent of the light before it even exits the bulb).

The Philips Vision Plus are very nice in my wife's '95 Voyager. I got them from: . Walmart carries the GE Night Hawks now -- they didn't a year ago when I was shopping.

It would be nice if these lights were more generally available (outside of Walmart, that is).

Same blue-glass crap as all the other blue-glass crap.

Say it again: There is no such thing as something for nothing. When you put a color filter in the system, you are TAKING AWAY light, not adding it back in. And even if there were such a thing as a magic zero-loss filter (which there is not), tinting the light towards blue-purple (which is what all these "extra white" bulbs do, including the PIAA items) does not in any way help you see better.

The key to seeing at night is the maximum possible AMOUNT of light, sent to the right places in front of you. NOT the right color of blue, NOT the bulb that costs the most, NOT the bulb that makes the biggest promises of looking just like HID headlights, NOT the bulb in the sexiest packaging...

Too many of these blinding white head lamps. Is there something wrong with your eyes that you can't see with normal head lamps.
