53 Chevy Frame Swap

Jun 16, 2006 1 Replies

Hello,

I hate to start another topic on this subject, but I couldn't exactly find the info I was looking for. I've got a 2WD 53 Chevy Pickup that I'd like to put on a newer 4WD frame. Does anyone have any good suggestions as to what frame would fit? I've heard some people say

70-80s chevy truck frames or newer S10 frames would fit. I'd ideally like a 90's truck frame. My wheelbase is ~115 inches.

Are there any good websites with info on what frames would fit? I couldn't find any.

Thanks, Zach

Fit or finding the right wheel base and width is not the problem. The problem is mounting the body to the frame. All the body mounts will have to be custom made, aligned properly and attached to the frame. I done this once mounting a 64 short wheel base Ford pickup to a 86 Ford 4X4. I had to use offset wheels to get the tires under the fenders.
