Best place to sell a tired old Bently

I have '56 S1 which I've had for about 10 years.

I bought it as a basket case & had it made sound mechanically.

Then I sent it away to be repainted and they balls'd it up (were supposed to put new wings on but they used filler, etc)

I lost intererest and it had stood now for the last few years. Paint peeling etc, etc.

It's currently a non starter, I think it has some electic problem, but the brakes, suspension, steering, gearbox etc that were all replaced or serviced after I bought it should still be in good order (it's done no mileage since then)

Needs lots of TLC and cosmetics (wood is good but needs refinishing, leather is iffy, carpets are pretty knackered) inside & out & frankly I don't have the time or the motivation for it now.

I was thinking of getting it running and entering it in the BCA auction at Blackbush in June or just listing it on Ebay.

Any thoughts or anyone interested?

How much were you thinking of? My dad might be interested in a restoration project.

Wonderful cars, but horrendously expensive to repair once the bodywork starts to rust. The early cars are also less desirable - 8.20x15 tyres with over a ton on the front of the car really do need power steering, and slightly later 6 cylinder engines were just that bit better.

A friend sold one last year on ebay, with all the difficult welding done (body mounts, sills, A posts, etc), nice interior (re-connolised leather right through, new carpets, good veneers), new MoT, running beautifully, but with some iffy chrome, bubbling round the sidelights, and rather pimply paint, for around £8000. The buyer drove it 250 miles home without a hitch, then went ape because the rear window seal leaked and he'd been quoted serious money for rechrome and respraying. All thoroughly unpleasant, and shows that even plenty of photos and an honest description doesn't protect you from prats on ebay.

But I want one, so how much, and where? Photos and more details appreciated to the address below.

I'd certainly agree. I had a '57 S1 with power steering and before buying it drove one without. Which was quite frankly unusable in today's town traffic - and I'm not a 7 stone weakling. Other thing was the cost of the tyres and their short life. Truck tyres ruined the ride. It's possible things are better supply wise today, though
