British Makes

I've not come across anything on Locomobile in the UK. Given how many Locomobiles run in the London to Brighton one would think that some could have been made here.

I do have further information on Marcos which I have not had time to examine properly yet. This places the Adams involvement as 1961 but does not mention either Rob Waalker or HMBE!

I have sent a picture of an Argyll to your e-mail address. It is probably too big to use but you can always scale it down to a smaller size.

When did Citroen start doing this ? I'm aware of the Slough DS, but did they build any Tractions here before that ?

Google for Citroen Bijou. That was a uniquely British Citroen (based on the 2CV, but with a plastic body), of which only a few (about 200) were produced during the late fifties and early sixties.

What about the VW plant at Wolfsburg? Frontage the best part of a mile long, as I recall. Output in the tens of millions. Was Slough really that big? For a measly 1,500 cars per year?

When did BMW take over the Isetta factory? The Isetta owners' club site just indicates that it was between 1957 when the original factory opened and 1964 when the Portslade one closed.

Together with several DS and Traction (and, I think, RWD) variants, yep. But the Bij was certainly the "most" Slough.

Designed by Peter Kirwan-Taylor, shell engineered and built in the UK, many bits lifted from the standard UK parts shelf.
