My 2000 Punto ELX makes a very high-pitched sqealing noise from time to time. The pitch is always the same, regardless of speed, and the noise always disappears if you touch the brakes - it never happens when the brakes are applied. Is this just a harmless bit of dust? Or could it be something more worrying?
