Should be able to use a wrench or the special O2 sensor socket to remove it. A crowfoot's might help too. Try soaking it with a good penetrating oil first, then let it sit for a while. P.B. Blaster seemed to work really well for me. - Gary
You might have to soak it:
As Gary_KQ6RT Said, have the proper tools, and there have been times that they have been so seized, I've had to use heat, Then Heli-Coil the manifolds.
I hope this helps?

Thanks Guys, It's now sorted. Soaked it in penetratrating oil, replaced the starter and ran it for 5 minutes. Dropped the starter and down pipe and managed to smack on a bigger spanner, ( I think someone may have rounded it off before) and it turned ok. I did have my brother helping underneath and the extra pair of hands made it so much easier.
Thanks again.
Spanner? You must be in Europe. Charles
Actually...I use spanner interchangeably as well. (Perhaps 'cause the first car I worked on was an XK120.

I think my sig. may have given a clue earlier. :->
Spanner=wrench for the Brits :).
Look in any manaul for an English car (even if it's written for the US market) and many times you'll see those terms.
It's "proper" English. :) Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 26k orig. '79 "Y89" 400/4 speed 10th Ann. T/A, 57k orig '84 Olds 88 Royale Bgm 2 dr, 307 "Rocket" (lol), 141k and still going.... '80 T/A project car...
Aye.
If you have cable. You aught to see if you get Discovery Leisure channel. If so watch a episode of a car is reborn. Charles
