Hi all. I've got a '95 Grand Cherokee with the 318, and need to replace the oil pump gear and shaft assembly. Can this be done by just removing the distributor? If so, any tips on how to get it out?

You can't, That's why I've pulled the distributor. The distributor is currently out, and you can look down into the hole where the distributor was mounted, and see the gear. What I'm trying to find out is if there is a way to pull the gear out of the same hole the distributor came out of, without having to pull the oilpan and oil pump.
