I've just picked up an old overhead console for my firebird. In good shape but no plastic light cover. Dealer tells me they no longer make that part. Can anyone recomend where I might find one besides Ebay? Also does this console take special mounting screws?

You should start by getting the GM part # of what you need. Then have the dealer do a search for that #.

I did that. he told me the part was discontinued and that GM was not using it in any other cars.
The search means, punch it into the computer, and find out if another dealer still has one showing in stock.
I did the same thing recently, and located over 300 of what I was looking for at other dealers, and with a couple of phone calls, had exactly what I was looking for.
