Say WHAT?

A Trans Am can't be a Formula and a Formula can't be a Trans Am. They are two different Firebird models.

If you're getting poping out of the exhaust you are probably get spark of some sort. You probably messed up the Optispark.

IIRC the Trans Am was considered, at least by Pontiac, to be a Formula option. Pontiac said there were two firebird lines - the base Firebird and the Formula.

I found an ad in the newspaper from a dealership for a "1999 Pontiac Trans Am Formula" Was really tempted to go over there and say.. ok.. how were they the only dealership in the world to have this car. But then in the same paper I found an article for a "1999 Pontiac Trans Am t-top, 350 cylinders, leather, auto, red, 65k" I REALLY want that car... to have a car with 350 cylinders.. I wonder where the driver sits. :)

KITTvsKARR spilled my beer when they jumped on the table and proclaimed in

It prolly had teeny tiny pistons and bores that only displaced 1" CID. :)

I guess it's one of those rare non-LS1 1999 Trans Ams. The LS1 is 346 cubes. Imagine trying to adjust the timing on a 4th gen with a regular distributor? ;)

ACTUALLY now I'm not trying to be a pain in the a$$ but if you run the VIN# on any T/A Convertable it will be decoded as a Formula.... However this is only in the case of Convertables. I've had first hand experiance with this on all 6 of the 30th Anniversary T/A's I looked at when I was in the market for one......
