The 1980 Trans Am parts car I have was originally a Z49 Canadian car sold in Montreal. The dealer is still there, I forget the name though.

They were nice enough to respond to my e-mail, but the vehicle was too old for the records to have. One of my work colleagues tried to get the data from the Ministry of Transport there but it appears this car was invoiced through Canada but perhaps originally sold here in the States.

It's a weird duck, has some odd options, including DUAL front speakers. LOL. It's an original WS6 turbo T-top car :).

Now it sports a 400 from a 1977 LeMans :). Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 27k orig. '79 "Y89" 400/4 speed 10th Ann. T/A, 57k orig '84 Olds 88 Royale Bgm 2 dr, 307 "Rocket" (lol), 143k and still going.... '91 S10 Blazer 4.3Z

Yup, I have the build sheet here from it from my folder and files :).

Made on 1/16/80 (one day before my Turbo Trans Am) in the Norwood, Ohio plant, sporting UX6 "dual front speaker" option :).

Originally invoiced to Harland Automobiles, 955 Montreal Toronto BLV, Dorval

780 PQ Canada. Dealer #86-544

It was originally code #15 silver (now it's ghetto Maaco white), with a deluxe Carmine Red interior :).

PS, PB (4 wheel disc) A/C (gone), PW, tilt, WS6, T-top, UN3 stereo cassette radio, heavy duty battery, rear defogger, Z49 Canadian mandatory equipment package (although the speedo seems to be a US one), it had 8" turbo flow wheels (now has ghetto American Racing rims on it).

Quite a POS, but it's cool. Hey, I got it from a NYC cop that had to sell it :). Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 27k orig. They all drive like maniacs out there! And this coming from a Trans Am owner... I wussed out and took a plane. More time to work on the racecar...

What records are you looking for? Original owner? I know you know about PHS, so I'm assuming you're trying to track down ownership info? The Quebec DMV? (or whatever they call it in French...)

I found the build sheet for my old 70 Buick when we were gutting it for use in the demo derby. The original AM radio still worked... I was going to play it in the demo... except no antenna because it was in the windshield... ;)

I e-mailed Harland again to see what they have to say :).

Only have 2 at the moment :). One is in the 10th, the other in the parts car :).

I didn't have the room (sorry, a neat nut) for the motor that would have come WITH the parts car, it was a 78 T/A engine, 400 that the guy "supposedly" put 5 grand into and never installed. He was going to give it to me, but I didn't have the room for it. LOL.

Nah, was a one time deal to finish off my old POS winter car. It was fun, just waaay too much work to just destroy it all. I'll stick with my oval car even if it's costing me $1 per second...

Can you, A-Hem.. still get it? I could arrange for a small increase in the thickness of your wallet, if you know what I mean. Charles

Charles:

I would keep it for a backup anyhow :). I think he gave it to someone else. No big issue, it was a 78, not 79 PWH motor :).

Yesterday on my way to work, I saw the sherriff's office towing this RX7 at one of the houses I pass on the way to the highway.

Now I know this guy (or someone in that house) has a 10th Anniversary sitting under a cover that I will inquire about.

Since the RX7 was towed for unpaid tickets, perhaps the guy could use a little boost in his wallet and room in his driveway.

Ahem :). Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 27k orig. '79 "Y89" 400/4 speed 10th Ann. T/A, 57k orig '84 Olds 88 Royale Bgm 2 dr, 307 "Rocket" (lol), 143k and still going.... '91 S10 Blazer 4.3Z
