Ok, first off, I know nothing about vehicles, so be kind. Yesterday, on the 16th of July. I purchased a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport, 4.0 V6, with
27,000 miles on it. On the way home from the dealership, I noticed a nasty smell coming from the vehicle. When I got home, I went to get a few things out of the back of the truck, and noticed that some sort of fluid had sprayed all over the back window, and all over the hatch, and license plate, and was leaking like a siv all over the ground. The smell was almost like a burning oil smell, but there doesn't seem to be any leaks, under the hood, and the oil pressure, and level are fine. As well as the tranny fluid. I have the manufactures warranty, as well as an extended warranty through Western Diversified. I called the salesman today, and he told me to bring it in on Monday, but I would like to know what it might be so I can have at lease some knowledge of what's going on. So they don't tell me that they have to replace the torque conversion fluid, (I know there's obviously no thing called that) over the kiddlebopper shaft, or something like that, and I'll have no clue what it means, and just say....duh...OK. Any suggestions are much appreciated.- posted
