95 Explorer Rear Quarter Pannel Window leaking

Aug 06, 2003 2 Replies

Greetings,

Any one else have this problem? My right drivers side quarter panel window leaks during rain storms, or car washes.

Its been happening for a while now, but it lately has gotten worse. Any one else had or heard of Explorers having this issue?

Im not sure if I should just plop some silicone there my self, or just take it to a window shop. Any suggestions?

It appears to be leaking in from where the window frame meets up with the metal of the truck.

I have a 96 XLT that had a similar problem. I noticed the carpet would be damp after hard rains, and realized water was seeping in through the top of my drivers side quarter window. I pulled the interior plastic panel to expose the mounting screws attaching the glass to the body, and tried tightening them. I tightened each of the ones across the top of the glass, being careful not to over-do it. Afterwards, I poured water along the outside, and watched for leakage. It had stopped, and so far (looking for wood to knock on) it hasn't happened anymore. You might try this before pursuing more costly alternatives. Hope it helps.

We're living in a world that's been pulled over our eyes to blind us from the truth. Where are you, white rabbit?
