Tie rod replacement

To what length should tie rods ends be set to when replacing them?

The new tie rod should be set at the same lenth as the old one.Any time you change tie rods you should get a alignment.Before you remove the old tie rod,mark the threads with a yellow chaulk pin.This will give you some kind of guide to go buy.Then compare new and old tie rod and mark the new one in the same place as the old one.

I usually use a chisel and bang a little notch into the threads, but yes you will need an alighnment after changing them
