C Max v Focus hatchback

Thinking of going diesel with either of the above Focus options.

Has anyone else analysed this lately.

Cheers

I have a 2.0 litre (136 psi) C-Max Ghia diesel, just a year old now with

11,000 miles on the clock (it used a litre of oil btw). Great to drive, fantastic engine. Very good for making fast progress with little drama.

The only reservation I have is regarding the economy - it eats diesel if you enjoy the performance. I've settled to around 37-8 mpg typically, but I can manage high 40s if I'm very lightfooted, use high gears, never exceed 2000 rpm, and avoid the turbo kicking in. I have managed to see

60mpg, but that was with a following wind doing 60mph on a level stretch of motorway in 6th.

I find it noisy in the back on Continentals, I believe that Michelins are quieter? Seats are comfortable, driving position is great, both for me and my wife 6' and 5'4" respectively.

If you're a walker/hiker, the loading lip at the back makes a great seat for changing boots/shoes - lol

I just missed the Sony radio :o( the one I have fitted is a load of old rubbish - I've had to give up listening to Radio 5 and Long Wave cricket, all I can hear is interference for motor's, microswitches and other sundry electricals and electronics.
