Mondeo Fault and Insurance Issue`s

Hi All,

Hope everyone is welland wouldnt mind helping me? I have rather a annoying problem with a 2.0TDCi Mondeo on a 53 Plate. Cut a long story short, hit water, engine stalled and had Compression lock during the floods.

Recoverd it home, drained oil, new filter and oil and engine flush, started first time absolutly fine. All was good, about 6 weeks after the car started juddering between 50 and 60 MPH. And has become a little rough when started in the morning. All Cylinders have good compression. Once the car starts to judder slight press on the gas stops it, itll then travel 50 - 60 miles and do the juddering again, again a slight press on the gas stops it again.

Taken it to a Ford dealer who has tried a Diag and has not been sucessfull as it has a CamBus fault so can`t go any further without a load of costs. Advised me to go to my insurance who are saying they will write the car of if a diag cannot be done on the car as they will not pay to find the problem.

So far we have found the EGR Valve outlet is getting Derv through which they think is realted to the Cambus fault (To much Derv been pumpped in because sensors arn`t talking, and this also causing the bad starts).

Just wondered if anybody has any suggestions on what to check or look for? Doubt this is going to be a simple as look in 'x' space and pull the plug off and stick it back on again but didn`t know if any of you guys had any sugestions?

All suggestions welcome

Many Thanks Si

Why are you asking in a Focus group? Its not as if the Focus has the same engine. I see you have asked in two uk.rec.cars groups which are more appropriate than here.

Hi There,

Sorry for the Cross Posting and also for asking in the wrong group, I just know that there are some really good Ford Techies who hang around these groups and looking at other posts there is some really good replies.

Sorry again Cheers Si
