It could very well be burning up, on an exhaust manifold, or block... My knowledge of placement of the brake system on that vehicle is lacking. I'd check for discolorations around, and further behind, the brake system pieces, on anything else in the engine bay.
cheers

It's going into the booster. It will fail eventually because of it. Best to replace both at once. Less work.

I have a 1985 Bronco had the same problem. Thought it was the master cylinder but everyone even shops told me no. I took it off and low and behold it was leaking in the back very slowly. I looked at the booster and it had a dryed stream where it had gone down. I figured that when I drove the vehicle the wind coming in from the grill and the heat of exhaust was drying it up and I didn't notice any wetness. Most remain cylinders are under 25.00 at most parts places I bought one replaced it and bled the cylinder and all fixed.

Heard of that but never seen it, but that's my guess too.
When you get your "rebuilt" master cylinder (they don't make new ones anymore for my '75 according to ford) they tumbled the suckers to clean them and the tops don't seal worth a damn. :/
I turned my "rebuilt" upside down and placed it on sandpaper clipped to a clip board and made the sealing surface flat again.
Seems like I rasped it first with a hoof rasp first but don't remember for sure. Either way don't let filings or sand get into the passages! :)
Don't mess around buy a new one if you can, I would have too.
