bumper underhang

Hi,

Has anyone ever removed that plastic wrap-around thing at the bottom of the front bumper on a 98 F150. I'd like to dispense with it as it interferes with servicing, also I think the truck would look better without it. Or is there a good reason for keeping it? We don't have front license plates so I don't need it for that.

Thanks, Fred

I believe it was designed to aid in radiator cooling airflow. I don't know how dependent the radiator is on its function, though.
