F-100 bed paint ideas??

I know I should use Duraliner, but I'm poor, so I've decided to scuff up my somewhat rusty bed floor, and primer/paint over it... I'd prefer brushing on some enamel (cream color), so should I get some @ Home Depot, and some clear poly as a final coat? Any types/brands suggested?? I carry nothing but the spare in the bed, so it won't be subject to lots of heavy abuse... Thanks in advance for ideas/help! Paul

I think so...I bought it 'cause I'm tired of used Sentras etc. with tons of smog equipt. on them, confusing wiring, etc...I don't know if you live in Montana or not, but here in greater ATL lots of old ladies are driving around with pristine unused truck beds...:+)

Come on. Pickups look good and are more fun to drive than a little car. It's a great use :-).

As for what to suggest for repainting the bed, I don't know enough about paints and materials to be of any help.

You can now buy the bedliner paint in a can. It is carried at Autozone and Advance Auto Parts. It is made by duplicolor and it is pretty good considering.

I think right now you can get it in white and black only.

Also as with any project prep and more prep is what makes it last. So sand sand some more etc and use a good degreaser/cleaner on it after sanding tape anything you don't want covered and spray away in even coats back and forth. It won't look perfect but it'll look ok.

Also I used the spray cans on the rockers of my bronco once I repaired and painted them as a protective cover to prevent rock chips etc it has held up for 8 mos so far.
