Ford Ranger clock

This is a little embarrassing, but...

I replaced the battery on my 2001 Ford Ranger, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to set the clock on the stock CD player (single disc). I held the clock ("CLK") button for 2, 3, 5 and 10 seconds, plus about 30 combinations of the CLK button and other buttons, to no avail. I bought the truck used, so no manual. I've worked on cars since teenage years, but I'm stumped. Any help?

If its like my 2002, the radio must be ON. Then, WHILE holding the clock button down, adjust time with the seek/find station buttons. I fooled with mine a long time before I tried it with the radio on! Paul

Try taking a ball-peen hammer and whacking it a few times. That will fix it - for good... :Oo

Just download the Owner?s Guide (comes in PDF format) from the Ford website. Hope this helps:

Thanks to all for their responses. I held the CLK button while doodling with the seek buttons. It worked. Then, following Stan de SD's advice, I struck it numerous times with a ball-peen hammer, with tears of rage in my eyes. Now the clock doesn't work again. Any help?

Fantastic, Lee. Thanks a bunch. I'd originally looked online for a few minutes but couldn't find a manual. Then I got sidetracked by online photos of Anna Kournikova. >B¬D»
