I have same problem on my 97 I just don't shut OD off now.

If it's still under warranty, take it in. You have a short somewhere.
When my power driver's side view mirror was knocked off of my '97 F-150, it caused a short in the wiring and every time that I tried to use the power option on the mirror, it blew the fuse. I stopped using the power feature after the dealer told me how much it would cost to fix. :(
