Trying to install nerf bars on my 2003 Ranger XLT Quad Cab following the typical instructions that come with a lot of this aftermarket stuff.
Anyway, it says to remove the bolt under the carpet, in front of the seat. So, ok. I find the bolt, seems to hold the cab on the frame?? So I try and unbolt it, it starts to turn loosely but there is a round black plate on the underbody end, about 3" in diameter with notches in opposite ends. Naturally I don't have a tool that will grip it so I can't get the bolt either in or out.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
