Replacing front axle on '98 F-150

How much would it cost to replace the front axle on an F-150, rough guesstimation.

Really rough, about $500 for axle itself at a bone yard give or take plus a lot for labor if you farm it out as the TTB front axle is not a simple removal like a straight axle. ALso if you ever are thinking a converting to a straight/solid front axle, now would be the time to do it as costs will be simular.

a 98 F-150 doesn't have a TTB - it has an independent front end like a car. So the question doesn't really make any sense. The front axle is comprised of a whole bunch of components that all come off in a million pieces.

The only way you can afford to do that is find one in the junkyard and buy whatever you need from the junkyard. They'll tell you what it costs.

If is is a IFS model (not sure on what year they changed over) I wouls still go the straight axle conversion route as it will be cheaper in the long run and easier to lift too. If you get a F259 donor truck for parts it as quite doable.
