1996 S 10 Blazer. 4.3 liter engine. Just finished replacing the original engine with one from a bone yard. The engine runs for about 3 seconds, but then stalls immediately. engine runs fine when it is running. Any ideas as to what i should look for? any help appreciated.

Well, always two places to start. Spark and gas. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if the fuel pressure is holding when it quits.
CHeck to see if it has spark when it quits too. A timing light can be useful for that.
If the oil pressure is low (or if the sender is bad), it could cut off the engine.

k, got it running now, but now it dont shift into first gear and seems too lack power. anyone have ideas.
