5.7 gm oil pan leaking

does anyone know how to get the pan off the car there is a cross memeber from the suspension in the way

Depends on the Make/Model/Year of car, but most likely involves slightly raising the engine, removing the engine or removing the subframe.

The best wy to do it generally is to unbolt the engine mounts and raise the engine up enough for pan to clear cross member. The way I do it is to jack engine up by pan with a block a wood between jack and pan to spread load (after mounts are unbolted) and then place a piece of 2x4 or the like between engine mounts and frame and jack it back down and remove pan (a peice of haed wood like oak or even yellow pine works even better for this) Reverse process when pan is replaced.
