Any tips on reducing emission ratings on this car,its at 1.86,state says they need it to be 1.2,not very much differance,maybe oxygen sensor?? Thanks

What reading is that No, NoX, CO?
With out knowing which reading is way to high, no one can even give a ball park guess as to the problem. Charles

You need to have the EGR circuit checked. I don't remember if in
1986 the corolla/nova chassis had a vacuum, vacuum & electric, or pure electric driven EGR. Charles This is just a ball park guess.- Vote on answer
